Collarless Plush Cropped Evening Jacket

The Alverra plush jacket exists for one job: something to put over a dress on the way out the door. It is collarless, with a clean round neckline that sits flat against a slip, a halter or a high neck instead of fighting for the same space, and the front is left open with no fastening at all. There is nothing to do up, which is precisely the point of it.

The pile is soft and dense — closer to a coat fabric than a knit — and the jacket is fully lined, so it slides over bare arms and fine fabrics without catching on them. It ends at the natural waist, which keeps the proportions right over a mini or a long column dress, and the sleeves run full to the wrist, giving real warmth where a wrap or a stole would leave you cold.

It comes in Apricot, Beige and Royal Blue, sizes S to 2XL, cut regular through the shoulder and true to size. Our model is 5'7" and wears a size S. Machine wash it or send it to the dry cleaner; either way the pile keeps its loft better if you let the jacket dry naturally rather than putting it anywhere near direct heat.
