Belted Peplum Jacket with Asymmetric Placket

This is the short jacket for the days when the outfit needs a waist. Alverra shaped it around a high belt that buckles at the back, so the body draws in above the hip and then releases into a soft peplum flare instead of sitting flat. The placket runs off-centre down the front, which keeps the buttons from turning it into a uniform.

A stand collar buttons closed at the throat, and raglan sleeves carry the shoulder line in one unbroken curve, which is why the jacket reads clean rather than boxy. Buttoned tabs finish the cuffs so the sleeve can be set exactly where you want it. The fit is regular and shaped through the waist, cut short to sit at the hip over trousers, denim or a straight skirt.

It comes in four browns, each a slightly different depth: Coffee Brown, Dark Brown, Brown and Mocha Brown. Sizes run S to 2XL and the jacket is true to size; our model is 5'8" and wears the size S. It machine washes or dry cleans, which makes it easy to wear as an everyday autumn layer rather than saving it for occasions. Wear it buckled tight for shape, or let the belt sit loose for a softer line.
