Striped Polo Collar Jumper with Button Placket

A knitted polo collar changes what a striped jumper can do. This one has a proper turned collar and a three-button placket running down from it, so the neckline holds its line instead of slumping the way a crew neck does by mid-afternoon. Fasten all three buttons for something the office reads as deliberate, or leave them open for a looser Saturday version. The placket is short and stops just below the collarbone, so the stripes below it run unbroken across the chest.

Horizontal stripes run across the whole body and down the sleeves, which is what gives the jumper its shape on the eye and stops a relaxed cut from reading as sloppy. The sleeves are long with a drop shoulder, so the seam sits low on the arm and the knit falls softly rather than pulling across the back. Ribbed cuffs and a ribbed hem close both ends.
