Waffle Knit Mock Neck Jumper with Drop Shoulder

This is the jumper Alverra makes for the days when a plain crew neck is not quite enough. The knit is a chunky waffle stitch, so the surface holds a grid of raised squares that catches light and gives the piece its texture before any pattern is added. The yarn itself is flecked, a two-tone mix that stops the colour reading flat across a large jumper.

A ribbed mock neck sits close to the throat without the bulk of a full turtleneck, which keeps it wearable under a coat or a quilted jacket. Drop shoulders push the seam down the arm and let the body fall in a loose, unstructured line. Ribbed cuffs and a ribbed hem pull that volume back in at the wrist and waist, so the shape holds rather than spreading through the day. The length is regular and stops at the hip, which sits well over jeans and over a straight skirt.
