Oversized Double Breasted Wide Lapel Jacket

The Alverra oversized jacket gives you the look of a proper tailored coat in something you would actually wear to fetch a coffee. The wide lapel collar folds open across the shoulders the way a coat's does, but the body is cut short and generous, stopping at the hip instead of running on to the knee — so it reads as outerwear without the commitment of a full-length coat.

It fastens double breasted, and the shoulder seam is dropped, which is what gives the jacket its soft, unstructured drape rather than the stiff line of a blazer. The sleeves are full and roomy with buttoned tabs at the cuff, and it is fully lined, so it slips over a chunky jumper without dragging. Short enough to sit above wide trousers, wide enough to layer real knitwear underneath.

Apricot and Gray, sizes S to 2XL. Take your usual size; the cut is already loose, and sizing down only removes the room that makes it work over knitwear. Our model is 5'7" and wears a size S. Hand wash it or send it to a dry cleaner — the lining and the lapel both hold their shape better that way than they will in a machine.
