Funnel Neck Quilted Gilet with Drawcord Hem

The funnel neck is the reason this gilet earns its place. It stands up on its own, zips the whole way to the chin and closes the gap a scarf usually has to cover. Below it, wide horizontal quilt channels run across the body and hold their loft instead of flattening out at the shoulder, so the padding stays put where the cold actually reaches you.

The body is cut boxy and sleeveless, with dropped armholes wide enough to clear a hooded sweatshirt or a heavy jumper without dragging at the seam. A full-length zip runs clean from hem to collar, and the drawcord at the hem lets you pull the shape in at the waist or leave it falling straight. Padded and lined throughout, it stops at the hip, so it sits under a coat in deep winter and works on its own once the weather softens. That makes it useful for the days when your arms run warm and your middle does not, which is most of the walk to work between October and March.
