Cropped Faux Fur Puffer with Stand Collar

The surface is the point here. Plush faux fur covers the whole jacket, so what would normally be a smooth quilted shell reads soft and deep instead, and the padded panels sit underneath doing the insulating work out of sight. The zip is concealed behind the front edge, which keeps that surface unbroken from the tall stand collar down to the hem.

Cropped is the other half of it. The body finishes above the waist, which keeps the volume off the hip and lets the jacket sit over a longer knit, a dress or high-waisted trousers without swamping the outfit. Drop shoulder sleeves fall softly rather than sitting square, and elasticated cuffs stop the sleeve riding up when you push it back. The collar stands high enough to shelter the neck on its own, which saves reaching for a scarf on a short trip out. It is lined throughout, so it pulls on over a jumper cleanly and the fur is kept off the skin.
